Two Exciting Breedings!

Two very exciting breedings have taken place at Jetstream Whippets.  Our lovely princess, Gaia (dam of our superstars "Cheekie" and "Kimmi"), has been bred to Joska Forgetmenot Idealist. "Fergus" himself has produced some outstanding offspring, and we have great expectations for this pairing.  If all goes well, beautiful brindle babies should be born about August 3, 2012.

Our second liaison between our stunning Best in Show winning "Tango" and handsome gentleman "Chesney" (Am. Ch. Fanfare's My Kind of Crazy) will hopefully result in a litter of exotic and curvy fawn babies, to be born about August 14.  See our "Puppies" page for photos of Tango and Chesney.

Great Weekend at Canadian National Specialty!

Jetstream Whippets had a great weekend at the Erie Shores and associated Sighthound & Whippet Specialties over the weekend of June 1-3. On Friday, June 1, our "Kimmi" made it all the way to the final cut (in an entry of over 60 Whippets) at the Great Lakes Whippet Club specialty, under judge Espen Engh, literally just missing out on an Award of Merit (as the Winner's Dog was doubled up with an AOM).

At the National Whippet Club of Canada on Saturday, under esteemed Whippet judge Bo Bengtson, "Cheekie" was awarded an AOM in an entry of about 70 Whippets; she also earned "Best Breeder-Owner Handled Whippet in Specialty.  Their dam "Gaia" (Ch. Forgetmenot Glamore) was awarded the Best Brood Bitch in the National Specialty, and Jetstream Forgetmnot Playboy earned his first altered championship points by winning Best Altered Male, both at the GLWC and NWCC specialties.

At Gazehound Ontario, on Sunday, June 3, litter sisters Cheekie and Kimmi were both granted Award of Merits under judge David Miller!  Kimmi also earned the Best of Opposite Sex award at the all-breed show, in a very competitive entry, under judge Eugene Blake.

Despite the less than perfect weather, we had many great reasons to smile!
